“Se está liando" In Radetski Flat!

Varna, Bulgaria, 31st December 2013

“Radetski flat” is the place’s name of three EVS girls in Varna. Anna, Audrey and Vero. They decided to stay in Bulgaria for New Year’s Eve and they wanted to do something special and different.
By “Why Rakia’s group” in Facebook (the group of EVS Bulgaria) was possible to ask if anyone would spend that night in Bulgaria and if they would like to join us in this party. That idea started like something without a great plan, very spontaneous and, humm, yes… finished the same way! One hour before the start of the party we didn’t know how many people would come… But finally, that spontaneous idea was the best New Year’s Eve party ever!!....

Thirty people in a really small flat, a lot of drinks, international foods and desserts and a lot of happiness and fun.
Like all the parties, this one started with a shy and polite “Merry Christmas” wish and finished with crazy people shouting and singing as if their lives depended on it!

At midnight, we celebrated the New Year with cheers and hugs and we could see the fireworks from our balcony too.
At 1am we celebrated the Spanish tradition eating the 12 grapes of the luck! This is, eat 12 grapes in the last 12 seconds before midnight. We could watch the Spanish TV show 'live' and Dani “The sexy shots man” (Oh, yeah!) helped us making the last seconds louder with the drums.
As well, we ate the traditional “banitsa of the wishes” made by Yivsko. Wishes like: “This year you will have a baby”. WTF!!???

Telling the true, it was really nice to share those funny traditions with all our international friends. After that, the wildness started…

Hugs, kisses and special kisses (I don’t want to say who were involved…Aháaa! : P), the best wishes, cheers, uproar and… Champagne everywhere!! Yes, someone decided to recreate the moment when Fernando Alonso is on the podium celebrating the victory!! (And, of course, the wall is still dirty, but don’t worry, we’ve already decided to make a “paint time” in spring to clean it :P)

And the party was, already, a real party with live music and tipsy people. Just tipsy???  Hahaha…

Guitars, drums, maracas, timbales, ukulele… The party was on!! Thanks Igor for your musicals skills! And also thanks to everyone who wanted to play or sing something good and it was… it was funny!! Finally, the tipsy people developed their artistic skills, huh? Gosia… Ejem… You are the best rock singer, my dear!! ;)

The next day, when we woke up, the flat looked like as an stampede had crossed through the living room, but we didn’t care, we had enjoyed the best New year’s eve ever and, the most important, the neighbours weren’t angry with us because of the noise.
